The Portland Creative Conference, the primary fundraiser for Keeping the Arts, had another successful run on September 23rd this year.
With a new infusion of money into our grant pool, the Keeping the Arts Board of Directors met in November and approved the following grants, which bring our total grant distribution up to $92,000 so far:
- $2,500 to the Corban Theatre Art’s Summer Camp in Salem, OR to provide scholarships for students in grades 6-12 from communities in the Santiam Canyon to attend the camp at no charge.
- $2,000 to Open School North in Portland, OR to support their Open AiR artist-in-residence program for at-risk youth.
- $1,500 to Children’s Repertory of Oregon Workshops in Florence, OR to support their production of The Addams Family Musical, which will have a K-12 kids cast and crew of 30 and will be seen by 1,500+ kids in the community.
- $1,000 to Caldera Arts Center in Sisters, OR to support their arts programs for underserved youth.
Congratulations to all of our grant recipients. We appreciate the impact your arts programs have on the youth in your community!
The KTA Board will continue to evaluate grant opportunities that will draw on the funds raised from the Portland Creative Conference. Any qualified K-12 arts education program in Oregon can apply for a grant from KTA.
